Performance and Mileage

Both the Genesis GV70 2.5T Standard and the 3.5T Sport are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. As its name implies, the GV70 2.5T sports a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 under the hood and makes a healthy 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. The bigger GV70 3.5T Sport features a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, delivering a thundering 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque.
Unlike many luxury performance cars, the 2023 Genesis GV70 offers efficient fuel economy; the 2.5T delivers 22/28 mpg, while the 3.5T, 19/24 mpg.

Do keep in mind that Genesis recommends premium gas for the GV70, and the numbers above reflect performance based on premium gas.

At the end of the day, the 2023 Genesis GV70 3.5T Sport provides a more luxurious experience, with its premium materials, heated and ventilated seats, and other convenient features that are lacking in the 2.5T Standard.
However, the features that the 2.5T Standard lack are not really features that people would use on a daily basis. Sure, a panoramic sunroof is a neat feature, but would only be used for the warm months in Virginia. Aluminum trimmings with brushed patterns are great to look at but provide no additional functionality.  Heated and ventilated seats are also nice, but personally, I’ve never thought I needed heated and ventilated seats in Virginia.

Personally, the 2023 Genesis GV70 2.5T is the better buy. It’s more affordable as it costs $10,000 + less than the 3.5T Sport, and provides more than enough power, mileage, and functionality. However, everyone’s needs are different, and the more powerful, more luxurious, 3.5T sport might be for you. But don’t take my word for it, experience it yourself!
