The GV70 catches your eye at first glance. You may think it is one of the German-made vehicles, but it is a Genesis. The GV70 is making a huge statement in the small crossover luxury SUV class. The sophisticated interior compliments the athletic elegance of the smooth exterior. The GV70 may seem overstated with the two bar headlights, large pentagonal grille, and long body lines but it all beautifully compliments each other. Your eyes follow the bold lines of the front to smooth, gentle curves of the rear. The oversized dual exhausts add to its athletic stance. Another unique exterior feature I like in particular is the lower placement of the license plate. It lets drivers behind you admire your vehicle rather than starring at a license plate.

Open the door and step into the future of Genesis. I can’t decide if the interior or exterior of the GV70 is my favorite, both are stunning. The leather materials are soft to the touch and comfortable to rest on. The GV70 allows for ample legroom for back-seat passengers. The driver-focused infotainment system has a large display screen which is great for following navigation and controlling the music. If you look down below the infotainment center, you notice a crystal gear knob. It does take getting used to compared to a traditional gear shifter. This adds to the seamless elegance of the GV70. In regards to the infotainment and connectivity, we can count on the GV80 to have Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and the high-end Lexicon stereo system. In my opinion, from hearing the sound system in the GV80, it is one of the best sounding systems on the market. The same Lexicon system that was in the GV80 is also being used in the GV70. The styling alone will give the GV70 an advantage over its competitors.

Performance
The beauty of Genesis is balanced out with impressive performance numbers. Underneath the hood Genesis is offering both a turbocharged 2.5 L four-cylinder and a twin-turbocharged 3.5 L V6 engine. The 2.5 L four-cylinder will be the entry engine which produces 300-horsepower and the larger V6 will come in at 375-horsepower. There will be plenty of power coming from either GV70. A huge bonus is that all GV70’s will be all-wheel drive, yay! Switch into Sport Plus mode to awaken the GV70 for increased handling and response. Since the GV80’s 0-60 mph came in at 5.3 seconds, I expect the GV70 to make a sprint. Who would have thought that an SUV would possibly be in the 4-second range?

Fair Pricing
Not only will the looks of the GV70 be more appealing than its competitors, but the pricing of the GV70 is also very competitive against others. The starting MSRP begins at $41,000 undercutting the German brands by a couple of thousand dollars. Of course, additional packages increase the price but it is still competitive with other luxury crossover brands.

Genesis gives you all of the aspects you look for when buying another vehicle; styling, performance, safety, and pricing. You are getting a classy and upscale interior with athletic performance.
